Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering Graduate
Marenav is a small & dynamic dedicated Australian engineering company specialised in cooling systems.
We develop and implement end to end cooling solutions from problem identification, concept design and evaluation to equipment selection, design, manufacture, integration.
Marenav has offices in Cromer in NSW and Adelaide in South Australia.
Full time position with dual location presence at Cromer and Garden Island.
Responsibilities & Tasks
· Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products.
· Generate working ideas, concepts to solve cooling problems on critical systems via document review, ship inspections and calculations.
· Design/Adapt new equipment and systems such as radar cooling skids, chilled water systems, control panels, local cooling units heat recovery and generation, filtration equipment, pump skids and associated controls.
· Assist in manufacturing test and improvement at prototype & new concept equipment design
· Perform engineering calculations to support designs and work with Australian suppliers to adapt the design to allow local content.
· Conduct ship inspections to identify routes for piping, locations and constraints for equipment and system solutions.
· Create and review technical drawings/diagrams/models/sketches for system and equipment designs for fabrication and installation. (INVENTOR, AUTOCAD, RECAP etc)
· Create and review technical design documentation including drawings, lists, calculations, report, manuals etc.
· Monitor budget and ensure project timeline is met.
· Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to build equipment and systems in office factory and shipyard settings.
· Assemble components, parts, or products according to detailed instructions, blueprints, or schematics.
· Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
· Site presence on board alongside or in dock, during inspection, build and test phase to address challenges in implementing the design into the ships structure.
· Client and supplier technical interactions where required.
· Develop planned maintenance and support strategies for implemented solutions.
· Interstate travel will be required from time to time.
Qualifications & skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/mechatronic engineering, mechanical design or in a related field.
· Member of Engineers Australia (or willingness to join)
· Willingness to work to achieve Chartered Status with Engineers Australia
· Firm grasp of engineering concepts and engineering first principles, and the ability to visualise solutions
· Experience using CAD software such as INVENTOR, AUTO-CAD, POINT CLOUD preferred
· Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people
· Must be self-motivated to bring solution concepts to reality
· Attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills
